The Awakened Body – Introduction to Odissi Dance is a self paced course through video tutorials, designed specifically for absolute beginners. It’s a very soft approach to the discipline, a set of preliminary practices and exercises to start understanding from the scratches the vocabulary of Odissi. May this slow approach to the art of indian classical dance create strong foundations and prepare you better to the future encounter with the intricacies of the Odissi technique.

About the course
The Awakened Body – Introduction to Odissi Dance is a course propaedeutic to the study of Odissi.
It’s dedicated to aspirant dancers who wish to:
- bring awareness and mindfulness in each part of the body
- familiarize with fresh corporeal maps and geometries
- prepare themselves to receive the knowledge of Odissi Dance
- start building the basic Odissi vocabulary
Its syllabus includes 13 prerecorded video tutorials, downloadable audios for your personal practice and 3 personalized feedbacks from the teacher. The option of assessments and feedbacks is available on demand, but not mandatory to complete the course*.

*The feedbacks on the assessments are mandatory prerequisites to access to individual classes packages and choreography courses, which you might want to purchase after the completion of The Awakened Body.
Costs
The course fee is 110 EUR. It includes 3 months access to the course materials and 3 feedbacks from the teacher, to be planned accordingly.

Receiving feedbacks*
When you feel ready, record videos of you performing the required exercises. Videos should be filmed in good light conditions, all details need to be clearly visible. As audio, you might use the provided downloadable tracks or even speak the taal/names yourself.
Submit your videos. Once you receive the feedback via email, read it carefully and remember to practice the corrections. More details about the assessments program will be given once you enroll in the course.
*Receiving feedbacks is not mandatory to complete the course. You may opt for this if you would like to get personal corrections to enhance your personal practice or if you wish to access the individual classes later.
